Advice on inflatables & outboards

Shiny1, looks great, which C-ski model is yours? I notice the SA spearos have to have 2 identical outboards on boats over a certain size, each capable of bring the boat onto the plane alone - don't recall anyone using that kind of set-up in the UK, I suppose taxes & prices would make it cost prohibitive for most here. I see they have a smaller model too but I've guessing yours is not that one.

Interesting to read about sleeping in the fish hatch - I expect the fish thought you smelt real nice the next day . Sounds like a possible survival strategy too.

Took my Bombard out for a proper spin today ( engine run in now ) and a dive . I have not had much experience of boats , but the difference between "planing " and not, is remarkable ! It gets up on to the plane at about 1/2 revs and seems quick enough to me , I do not think it would be able to cope with more speed unless it is millpond flat calm . I worked out over a 1 mile run ,which took less than 4 minutes that it must be doing 15 mph which is fine by me , this was only at just over 1/2 revs but it seems hardly any faster if I open it right up . It DOES NOT ride chop or other boat wakes with comfort ! So seeing as flat calm is quite rare then any more speed would be pointless so am happy with it . It seems easy enough to get back in from the water . Fuel usage is low and it will probably cost me more in annual service costs than fuel , which is stupid really ( unless I use it a lot .) Good vis today 6-8 metres ... nothing seen or taken ..
