Aeris F.10 V2

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Sounds odd. V2 is still buggy though. You might have to get it replaced (or at least checked) ...

I have sometimes the problem, that if i switch on dry land into FREE Mode the dive is starting without contact with water. The display shows 1-1,3m and is counting. The activation depth is set at 0,6m. I have to replace the batterie to get in normal mode.
Does anybody knows how i can solve this problem???

Best regards and thx for answers.

Just got the watch, and have the exact same problem, i tried to enter dive mode on dry land and it shows that i'm at 1.0-1.2 m, it's been more than an hour now and i'm in panic, how is it possible that there's no way to get back to watch mode manually (by pressing some button) ? What was i thinking, i could have bought D4 instead. I'm close to committing suicide, after all the trouble i got through to get it, now it appears to be a complete waste of money.

I did not read the manual, but if the watch has altitude calibration (like some others do), be sure to calibrate it to zero above the surface before diving.

Does that also happen when you don't have the watch on your arm? My local dealer told me that a few people had this problem and they actually put the strap too tight around their arm and the watch interpreted that as water pressure.

This may sound strange but Try cooling the watch off. - Let me know if you get a result.

I've worn mine tight over a suit and on my wrist and have never seen the problem - mine is set to 2ft.
the Liquivision Xen also can be set to two feet - Eric Fattah told me that it was possible for the watch to surface activate when set at that depth if the barometric pressure is high.

If the problem doesn't resolve please be sure and contact Aeris Technical Support.

The problem went away as mysteriously as it appeared, we'll see how long this will last. Now something else is troubling me, there are only 3 screws on the back of my watch (and it looks like there should be 4 as on every other watch i ever had). Am i missing a screw here or have i just become paranoid ? I'm not going diving until someone with v2 tells me there indeed are only 3 screws.

Don't worry, 3 screws here.

Those are graphite screws intended to dampen the nuclear reaction that runs the watch. With only three your watch could detonate at any moment - potentially wiping out an entire city block.

(I was able to duplicate your problem by sealing my finger over the pressure sensor and pushing on it - it may be your watch was in the process of calibrating itself to your barometric pressure - or something)

I bought my Aeris F.10v2 8 months ago. It now shows the "low battery" icon. Could it be the same bug as the old version has or is it normal to replace the battery at least once a year?

Depends on use - 8 months is not unreasonable.

I've used it a few times for deep diving, but never activated the light. I wasn't aware that being in "free" mode / deep diving consumes more battery than usual.
Anyway, I'll get the battery replaced or do it myself.

Yes, there is a second processor for dive mode. 8 months is really about average.

Also, if the wet contacts are enabled, make sure to always dry well the watch after diving, not letting it together with the wet equipment, otherwise it will drain the batteries quite fast too. That's true for practically all diving computer, ont only for the F.10, though.

Good to know. Thanks for the hints!

Just wondering if anyone else finds the 'stop watch' annoying to stop and reset.
Instructions tell you to press the button for two seconds to 'stop' the timer, but also to press the button for two seconds to reset timer, I find that I'm pressing button for two seconds and reseting instead of stopping, or am I doing something wrong?

I'm not a big fan of pressing 'Adv' for 2secs to reset either. On the other hand it works a bit different from your usage. 'Select' works as 'start','lap counter'. E.g. if you want to clock two laps, you will have to press 'Select' three times. After the third time the watch will continue measuring the third lap. But lap3 will be omitted as soon as you press 'Adv' < 2secs.
I hope I could explain it sufficiently. First I had my problems with the stop function as well.

Quite moody my unit, yesterday i went on a 3h diving, when i entered dive mode the infamous ghost dive appeared, after an hour it exited the dive mode and i said to myself thank god now i can finally start diving with depth gauge, but no, the ghost dive was here again when entered the dive mode. On the other hand today i had no problems whatsoever . I guess i'll have to live with this (this sentence in the ideal world shouldn't be in the same post with a 400 bucks watch), 'cause there's no way i'm gonna send my watch back in the middle of the summer.

Is there a way to delete entries from the log ? I wish i could take credit for what my log is showing, but i was clearly letting my hand slip to deep while on the surface (activation was set at 0.6m) 'cause 3min dives are just far away dream for me at the moment.

Hi. Pressing top left for 2-3 secs to get into FREE mode.
Only shows ZEROOOOOOOOS.
