AIDA rules for fluid goggles

Im making my own fluid googles and I want to use smoked glass swim goggles.

Does the Aida rules say anything about this?

In Constant Weight, Constant Weight No Fins and Free Immersion tinted or mirrored glasses are not allowed.

If you're using smoked glass i'd say it's borderline so I wouldn't do it - it's a lot of trouble to be told at a comp you can't use them.

There is nothing in the competition rules about tinted/mirrored lenses in any of the pool events so presumably they are allowed, and I have seen them used in comp.

Ill have to get some goggles with clear lenses then. I dont see why I should need them for pool events?

I think the idea behind it is that in the depth events the safety freediver is supposed to follow you up and use your eyes as a guide to what state you're in, eg. if you stop kicking but are still looking around or looking at your safety person then they will likely think you're ok, whereas if you stop kicking and your eyes are wide open and gazing into space then i'd say you're in BO and the safety would start rescue procedures.

In dynamic you can't have this process of face to face safety and in static you have audio cues.
