It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
hi

please contact duska.milojevic@kompas.si for more questions about excursions. Shes responible for giving you more pictures and detailed information and she's the only one who can maybe make you a better price.

I less than a weeks time athletes will start to turn up in Maribor.
To see who are the best freedivers in the world (in a two dimensional way).

I will be joining the H2O team and helping out with this and that. There will be reporting from the pools edge directly to the internet. As usual I am sure you DB users will get good first hand information - but The H2O team will report directly on their own OFFICIAL WC FORUM:

H2O team :: Preglej forum - AIDA INDIVIDUAL WCh 2007

Here you will also find a fun "QUIZ" that will test your knowledge in the "current affairs" of competetive freediving.

regards
Sebastian

I wanted to add a comment on the H2O team forum but registration is needed and my Slovenian is hatching! it would be good to get some tips how to register there, otherwise i will likely sign up for the Saturday adventure, unless i swim 150 DNF and qualify for the finals :D

Now here is one question and i hope it`s right in this thread.
If somebody qualifies for the B-Final can he still fight for the World Champion or only for the ranking 9.-16.? And if somebody gets a BO in the A-Final than he ranks 8. or 16. or last?

For example at the Swimming WC it was only possible to become world champion if you was qualified for the A-Final.

Anybody who can anwere this question?

Excuse me for my bad english.

If you qualify for B finals than you can get places only from 9 to 16. I am not sure what happens if you get BO in finals but I think you will be at least at 8th or 16th place.

It's possible that nr 9 in the final result list has higher points then number 8.
For example, in renens 2005, william winram was in the b final for static and did a 6:43 and was 9th, the 16th result was a time of 6:19 and that was even better then the nr 8 on the list Stig with 6:01.

So someone in the b finals doing the best performance can't become world champion.

So yes, agree. Strange results can happen if you look at the total picture, but that is with all sports with finals. Look at 100m sprint, swimming, etc...

So someone in the b finals doing the best performance can't become world champion.

If he or she can realy do best performance why should he not do it in qualifications. Or be at least close to it.

Jorg,

I´d say that your static list is spot on (if the stars keeps aligned ;) ) ... but there´s always room for a wild card. Any good guesses anyone?

My guess, one of these guys will be in top 5
Aleš Sliškar
Miha Pribošič
Per Westin

Ryuzo and Deron are also pretty sure finalists. Consistent 7+ guys. William Winram probably as well...

One question on the subject, if you're competing or coaching. Do you think a seven will make the A grp? 7:15? 7:30?

My personal prediction is that the last spots to A finals will be between 7-7:15.

There's 4 guys who are very consistent 7:30+, 3-4 that are very consistent 7+

Considering a couple of wild cards and a few DQs I'd say you don't want to "hold back" sub 7:15

I had a small problem with the site, so my article I wrote yesterday about dynamic without fins is just online. And for today also my predictions for dynamic with fins. Dynamic will be for sure the strongest field ever! Check out all my world champion articles here WC 2007 Pool | Shark Freediving
Every day an update!

Wow, I had the worst travel schedule ever... I could have driven here by car in half of the time... Anyway, I'm here now and getting ready with the judge work. Thank god, we still have some free time and a good internet connection in my room. Just uploaded the first batch of pictures of todays training. Go to Shark Eye Gallery and go to 2007 and then the WC Maribor map. Tonight more pictures after the opening ceremony.

As I had a lot of waiting to do on airports I also have some updates for Shark Freediving standing ready. I put it online this afternoon. So you get daily updates.

Last training day today.
Dynamic qualification tomorrow.
