Alaska freediver making carbon and glass fins

    Hi there everyone!

I live in Alaska and am a Master freediver. The AK freedive community is small. There's a couple scuba shops in town but nothing for apnea enthusiasts. Recently I've been experimenting with carbon and glass blades. It's a learning experience but I have a good network here of people very knowledgeable with carbon and glass. The problem is no one has knowledge of freediving! I'm looking for some input from the apnea community.

Has anyone tried making fins before?

I'm having a difficult time locating the rails for my fins. Any ideas about where I can find them?

Shoot me a message if you have some thoughts or if you want to hear about the process I'm using.

Welcome to Deeperblue! I recommend using the forum search function or browsing the Freediving Equipment subforum. Yours is a very specific question, and those would be your best bets. You may also want to respond to previous threads from folks in your area, either in the Intro and Greets subforum or the USA/Canada one.

Glad you could join us :)
