I have been out spearfishing about 5 times this year and am really enjoying it. The techniques required are more related to hunting than freediving, and I am severely lacking. I put a gun in FEIGN's hand a few weeks back and now he's got 500$ worth of American Riffe Aluminum in the mail!
Our friend Stu is our resident Alberta Guru of Silent Mayhem and has offered to take Lee and me along for some Burbot and whatever-else hunting in Cold Lake on July 9/10. I watched Stu dive the Banff Dam last year, the first time we met, and he is as smooth and silent a freediver that I have ever seen. Hopefully we don't cramp his style while we try to download years of 'fish sense' in a few hours
I extend the offer to anyone else that's interested in meeting up. We'll camp and eat fried fish, Indonesian style.
Have a nice Canada Day,
Cheers,
Erik Y.

Hey buddy, want some company? Should be rolling back through that way about that time. I've got two diveyacks, speargun, tent, camping equipment and stove, fishing rods etc etc...

Hey james,

are you moving to the tropics?......that's what I heard. Your going from good to better to best.

James, of course you are welcome! You must visit in any case amigo. It would be great if you could come and dive too.
Malta, you are welcome any time.
Cheers,
Erik Y

feign our trip to the tropics has been put on hold by US immigration. They didn't agree with my wife's employer about what her job title was so we're in limbo for about 6 months until they put through a different visa application. we're gonna hang in vancouver until then.

i'm trying to rope jer into coming up too. tentative plan is to leave friday at noon from calgay if he cant come i might leave thursday...

Erik - I'm back from guide camp in Mid-October - will have cash and spare time. It's on.

A great time and good experiences were had by all up at Cold Lake! We did in fact eat barbecued fish :p
