Hi!
A friend and I are going to Alghero at Sardinia in august this summer and we are planning to do some scuba diving during our vacation.

I have seen that there are several diving centers to go diving with. But is there any non-commercial diving club - just people who likes diving and does it for a hobby - that we could go with instead? My experience is that it´s more fun to go diving with locals than with turists.
We are also interested in spearfishing and freediving.

If not, whick diving centers would you recommend in Alghero?

Regards,
Johan, Sweden

There are actually non commercial diving clubs in Alghero, meant as underwater sports club for practicing, teaching and organize groups, such as this one.

I don't know if language might be a problem.

See if you may contact them. Otherwise, try with local dive stores. I guess they'll be likely to give a friendly help to Swedish hikers. In Sardinia they are known for welcoming people.

Thank´s a lot spaghetti!

I have been in Alghero once before; it´s a beautiful island and as you say, the people are very friendly - like italians overall.
