Hey guys,

Just wondering what you all use for antifog. Sure hocking a big ol' gob of spit is a classic old school cure, but any other special concotions that people have had good luck with? Thanks

nick

good old spit does the trick. i've tried cleaning out my lenses with toothpaste at home before going out on a dive. just remember to rinse thoroughly. and then apply spit at the dive site.

I think that toothpaste is only a one time thing to do inorder to get that factory stuff off the lense. After you done it once spit should do the trick, especially if the mask's not leaking.

There was also an old thread about it that you can try and search for, I think there were a couple of suggestions for dish soap.

Eventually over time, oil from your skin will build up on the lenses again and you may need to use the toothpaste or a dish soap to remove it. Make sure you clean the whole inside of the mask, not just the lenses.
Cheers,
Erik Y.

I find it really important to spit on the glass BEFORE it is wet, rub it in well with finger and even rinse it after. It does not have as much effect on already-wet glass. Each to his own!
Cheers
Gavin

I am in the water almost every day, and the anti-fog solution that I have found to work the best is: Johnson & Johnson's "No More Tears" baby shampoo. The yellow stuff.

I use it straight from the bottle....a few drops on each lens, rub it around, a quick rinse in the saltwater, and in I go.

Keeps the mask clear, won't burn the eyes, less hazardous than toothpaste for the environment.
