Anybody fishing in Ireland?

Hi All--
Does anyone apart from me spearfish in Ireland? I realise that the lack of fellow spearos may be due to the questionable legality of spearguns(though they aren't specifically mentioned in the offensive weapons act--a technicality I exploit to my advantage!! ), but I keep quiet and go about my business and nobody seems to mind. It would be nice to have a buddy once in a while though--any takers?

My permanent residence is in Dublin but I'm living in Cork city centre this year since I'm working on my MSc in fisheries at UCC. I've never tried the hunting in cork or kerry but there seems to be plenty of fishy looking water--I usually go around Easky for wrasse and pollack--have seen plenty of bass there but haven't had any success with them yet. We should give it a go sometime--though I'm horribly out of shape at the moment from a winter of laziness and pint-lifting!
