Hey Mohamed ... there is a HUGE diving community in NYC. Check out the Sea Gypsies Dive Club. Their in lock-down, like the rest of us, but they are super active with good connection to local boats. New England diving is quite an experience ... they can also help you jump in the right way. Good luck!
