This has been posted some in the past regarding apnea walking. I have recently got a new PB dry static of 6:45. The previous best was 6:00 so a good increase I’m pleased with. Up til recently my focus just static but trying to do some dynamics without fins.

Since I’m not near water often most of this training apnea walking. My PB is 2:20 almost passed out. Usually start with a 1:10-1:20 walk and work up and by 3rd or 4th walk over 2 min. It’s a very painful experience. My best swim was 50 meters and my goal is 100 meters but that seems impossible at this point.

When I do apnea walks it’s slow and deliberate so 2 min or more only yields a bit over 110-120 meters. I wonder if increasing intensity in the walks would help my swim? What is slightly disappointing is with a static of 6:45 swimming only 50 meters seems pretty pedestrian. How to improve in the pool is my focus and get to 100 meters. I realize that more pool time is the key as each time I go I can tell I’m more efficient. There is no formula to accurately compare apnea walking to swimming really. Doing a 2:20 swim is not possible now like my walk and I wonder why? After about 1:10 swim I’m exhausted.
