Are Polar Heart Rate Monitors waterproof?

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
As I understand it, they are water resistant? I've used one in a swimming pool for swimming training before now with no problems. However, I'm not sure what depth they would reach before throwing a wobbly :)

I've got one of the cheapest polars, dont remember the model, but it's rated to 30m and I've taken it there without problem.

i have a polar a1. the cheapest of the cheapest models and i use it in static pool sessions to analyse different techniques. it cost me about 40 usd and i am very satisfied with it.

maybe of interest to some other freedivers:
i was in contact with suunto and asked them if we can expect a computer like the d3 in combination with a heart rate monitor, because at this moment there is a suunto instrument who reads out heart rate and altitude (i guess). the answere from suunto was: no there is neither such an instrument in production nor planned - the freediving market appears to be to small...
