It is quite possible to interchange spears from one manufacturer to another. If you look at you spear you will find on the loading end there is a slightly lager diameter, tapered end. This end piece is threaded on to the spear & has two uses. One is stop the slider & two is to hold the spear in place by jamming the tapered end into the top of the piston. It is the piston that the trigger holds back not the spear. If this little end piece did not jam in place when you tipped the gun forward the spear would slide out!
Now if you fit a mamba kit the "O" rings that seal out the water will also hold the spear in place - so the little end piece has lost one of its jobs. Now if you take it one step further by removing the end piece completely & somehow fix you running line to the spear you can then remove the slider.
Are you still with me? Shall I go to the next stage?

Needless to say, on a Mamba or Mamba kitted airgun the end piece cannot be removed, unless the sealing kit is blocked somewhere on the shaft. On a kara-yo Tovarich, on the other hand, you must use a shaft without the end piece.

You know I've been wanting to get me a mamba for the longest, I'd love to hook it up locally but no one knows what the heck I'm talking bout...I thought quite a few times to order from Kara yo (took awhile to find, but I hope it helps Marwan)Kit Tovarich Karayonizado (a prueba) or try here Sujetahilos valido para cualquier fusil (fotos) pescasub.com4th post click on his name and send him a PM
but don't want to go the overseas route....besides I'd probably screw it up...don't know why I got this mental block with the whole Mamba thing...its seems simple enough...yet I'm not clicking it:duh

DAZED AND CONFUSED, well more than i am now rofl

If its brownish looking its SSS price here for a 125cm is $70'ish so it might very well be SSS

Well i think i got ripped again :(
To me it looks like typical stainless. Well atleast i have a better shaft than factory i suppose :crutch

Quite right but not difficult to modify - I have fixed the plastic mamba conversion in the barrel & made a cap to hold the O ring in place. i have also gone down a different route with the line attachment, I have welded a stop on the spear to hold back the slider.
Tone I will give a very basic explanation of how a mamba type system works -
There are a series of O rings that stop the water entering the barrel so when the gun is fired, unlike a traditional air gun the piston will not have to push out water as well as the spear. = much more power & less recoil.

With all this Mamba talk (original, kara-yo karamba, tovarich, & afterss sealing cylinder) let's not forget this guy in France (Cédric):

Who has made a TITANIUM Mamba

Maybe not as innovative as Ramon but the workmanship and materials are up to speed!

... and this is only the externally visable pimping! He runs his titanium mamba at 15 bar(!) - allegedly with the same shaft propulsion like the original at 25 bar.

Cheers

Quick question Fox

I was under the impression that air gus needed to have dual floppers
But yet i see u with one?

This is only a matter of personal taste. I use double and single flopper configurations depending on the target fish. Penetration and speed is slightly better on single flopper shafts, hold on the fish is much better on double flopper shaft.

Cheers
