It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
That's the standard Omer mini laser or so it said on the box. Straps are long enough for the leg but close right down as there are holes all the way along the length, so would fit my arm.

Good to hear they've got rid of the stupid wide velcro strap then :)

You can still buy that but this is the original version. The arm strap thinghy that doesn't work was an addition not a replacement.

Tried out some new gear on a night dive. Not really a fair test, night diving in the middle of winter. Vest felt good but you do notice it - sort of a bit "nose heavy". Seems to help going down on a dive and not too bad when swimming on the surface. Makes a big difference walking down the beach with 6lb less on the belt. Socks were excellent. Very elastic and a neat fit under my Omer footpockets. Night diving in winter was a good test for them. Never drew my knife but the rubber straps were comfy and stayed tight.

More testing when it's warmer.

It does feel odd at first but I found that I prefer the different angle you take in the water with a backpack. Especially when mooching along the bottom for flatties as you're a bit head down naturally.

just a note on the Knife.

I used to have - Omer mini Lazer - mine came with the velcro strap, i lost that knife , slipped off my arm.

I now have an Omer maxi Lazer , which came with the two rubber straps identical to the one in oldmandave's picture, this knife is also an inch or so longer than the mini lazer.

About knife straps- the stretchy ones that came with my Riffe knife work great on my forearm, never slip, and have lasted at least four years so far.
