I noticed that on this website the articles have been saying that Yasemin Dalkilic has set a new women's 'no limits' world record to 120 metres. While this is a great achivement and she should be congratulated on it I would like to point out that this is not quite true because the French freediver Audrey Mestre set a women's 'no limits' world record with a freedive to 125 metres. This reocrd was verified by IAFD. It was set in May in the Canary Islands. This means that she is actually the holder of the 'no limits' women's record.

I understand your concerns regarding this issue. This issue is a result of these competitors utilizing different certifying bodies for record attempts, and I am sure their will be disagreements as to who set what record and is the actual record holder. The stand of Freediving Internet Magazine is impartial and doesn't take one agency as being greater than another. The best solution to resolve this problem is to have all of these competitors utilize a unified certifying agency to verify each record attempt.

I hope that this clears up this issue.

Thanks for your concerns on this topic.

Sincerely,
