Hey y'all,

I'm a new polespear fisherman, and I am attending the Pleco/Talapia Tournament in San Marcos hosted by Atlas Environmental next weekend. After this, I plan to go spearfishing a LOT (I've practiced my dives in Lake Austin every day for the past month), because part of my five-year goal is to learn a completely self-sustained lifestyle.

My question is, where do y'all Texans spearfish most often? I know that there are plenty of people in my central Texas area who spearfish, but how do I find them? Please, if I can find a mentor to help me learn this incredible skill, I am sure I can make it up to you some way or another. I can hold my own with my deep frier or my smoker so y'all just start stacking up the orders below.

Sincerely,
SelfSustained

Hello, I just relocated to the Austin area, in the Highland Lakes region.

Training to be a SCUBA instructor, but also interested in freediving and spearing.

Always looking for new dive buddies.

Let me know if you find anything.
