Hi.
I have followed this forum a lot, but this is my first post.

I am renovating one of my spearguns and am almost finished, just need to make a new band.

I am only gonna mount one band, so I am thinking why not mount it in the hole where a second band is suppose to go?
This would give the band a little bit of extra travel, and can be made a little longer. am i missing something, given that no gun comes like this from the factory.

Regards
TBB

It should work fine. Just get the correct length. You want a band stretch of 3X to 3.5X. Don't forget that you double the length to take into account the total length of stretch. A 100 cm gun has 200 cm of stretch, so 66 cm of band would give you 3X

Awesome thanks.
The band making/measuring i have under control. I usually use a piece of rope and measure out where i want the knots, and then devide the length of rope by three.

I was just sitting with my piece of measuring rope and thinking why i didnt use the hole further away, to give me a longer band. good to hear there is no reason not to.

Thanks
Thorbjørn B.
