I expect many forum members have experience plastic pollution. For me it occurred most memorably when visiting the difficult to reach Chapman's Cove (in Dorset, England), a favourite spot, with several male relatives to go sea angling (rather than spearing). That day every part of the beach was covered deeply in plastic, washed in from the sea. This normally , beautiful secluded cove was so ugly that day that my brother-in-law asked to leave. It was deeply shocking and sad.
