Best Hawaiian Island for freediving/spearing?

I've got a free ticket, and I'm looking to over there, stay in a hostel, and do lots of freediving. As far as spearfishing, I'm not looking to land any trophy fish, just enough to eat each day.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Oh ya, I'd be going late summer/early Fall.
