Best piece of advice?

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 90 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Some useful (if a little obvious) advice i received for hunting:

Don't be lazy on descent: if you can, get right down to the fish's level to give you the biggest target to shoot at.

Look straight ahead thru your mask to minimise light refraction.

Patience! Take your time to line up a shot and for the fish to present the biggest (ie side on) target.

If a shot looks dodgy (ie tail on or too far away) and you're out of breath, surface and redive rather that take the Hail Mary shot: you MAY spook a fish going up and coming back down. But you almost ALWAYS spook a fish shooting and missing.

There are a lot more fish hiding in caves and overhangs than in the open.

I turned in my hooks and line for a video camera and housing a few years ago, but the quote is just as powerful. It is today's quote from the 'Little Zen Calender'.

"Many men go fishing all their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after"
Henry David Thoreau

"If it smells like tuna, you should have been there soona...If it smells like cologne, you better leave it alone."

Oh you meant freediving advice,

Never dive alone.
Seriously, you don't want to be that guy little lucy and joey find dead and bloated on the beach while they build there sand castles.
