Hi all!
New to freediving, getting all my starter gear together (got new fins and wetsuit on the way), need advice on best socks.
I ordered Cressi 3mm and they seem decent, but now need 5mm.
Looking at Salvimar and Hunter (and others).
Any specific favorites. Prefer not to deal with open cell interior.
Thank you!
Shannon

Gotta say I haven't found better than Spetton 5mm and 7mm booties. The 5mm gold and 7mm silver inner lined ones are super durable from my shore and boat diving experience. All the other brands I tried lasted less than a season under my use and I'm on season 3 with my 7mm pair...

Most people I know in Southern California use Argos.

Can either of you (or anyone) tell me what "split inner" means when referring to sock lining?
I may go with another brand than the recommended simply because I realize I need the lower cut on the ankles otherwise too hard to don/doff. (I don't think I have large ankles but seems neoprene socks and booties are often too tight. My surf booties are all ripped up at the ankles just from normal don/doffing. :))

I'm not sure what "spit inner" means but the Argos have a nylon inner liner that makes then easy to don and doff.

I’ve been through this too! For 5mm socks, I really like the Beuchat ones. They’re pretty warm and durable without the open cell mess. Another solid choice is Omer—they’ve served me well.
