Beuchat Marlin Revolution

Thanks guys, the gun seems to be very good...
Would they make one with 7,75 - 8 mm shaft?

Hi Vov,

Did you get any of the rollers (wood or carbon?).
Looking myself for one of them.
Thanks

I'm still happy with my wood version, much less recoil than traditional, more range, only downside is the loading takes a bit more time but since I wait 2x my down time during the surface recovery time that is more than enough time to load.

Hi Gab,

Thanks for replaying.
What about the sliding ring? I remember a picture on the forum whit (almost) damaged ring after 4 shots.

I didn't notice anything strange, sliding rings always have some wear & tear but it is usually mostly cosmetic from my experience. The only way around that is to put a small spring behind the ring but I have not done that on the revo.

I found on the web a clip with an improvisation for avoiding the metal sliding ring on a Beuchat roller (at 4 : 40 min).

It seems that works.

I wonder which roller it is, it has a singlebbottom band and my wood revo has two.

Personally I wouldn't try that, especially without a reel...maybe with a reel it's ok but I wouldn't feel safe. I guess it works ok for him because he is using a very long line. I find that reel lines tangle more than shooting lines when you don't use a reel though.

Thanks for posting!

The gun is Beuchat Revo Concept (carbon body + single bottom band). Same concept like Marlin Revolution.
For the guy the system works just fine. I imagine that it must be used shafts whit large shark fins in order for the knot to engage, otherwise you just loose the shaft.

I use also dyneema 1,5mm (direct from the reel) to attached the shaft and I have no problem ( I use 2 bands clasic rail gun, open muzzle).

Ok, thanks, I thought the revo concept had the same shape as the revo wood. I think it works for him mostly because of the length of his line, when he shoots his loose knot system does not hit the (sharkfin?) with much force, because if it did it would not hold long.

I also have a reel sobin this case it is ok since you don't really need to wrap the line if the reel is setup to release.

Yes the design is not new but a production roller gun that has been well built & safety tested is not every going to be cheap either = euro 750! Quote FoXfish.

I think the price reflects the complexity of the bits and manufacture time
along with a limited clientele base.

If had a extra 750 E I would love to hang one under the 1950 compound
lever roller I have on the wall. :)

Please someone buy one, I want to see some user feed back.:)

Cheers, Don

I bought the 105 Revolution and whilst it took some getting used to the gun out performs my 1.4 blue water gun for range and hitting power
Nice and neutral in the water its a joy to handle. I then bought the 85cm model and it was ideal for sw waters and have caught some good specimen bass with both. Last year I also took it tuna hunting with a breakaway rig and it was awesome.
The new revo concept is different, a little heavier at the front, but deadly accurate with a lack of recoil typical of roller guns.
Downside is the price and the lack of a reel being included.
Quality costs though . Best fish taken on Evolution Wahoo 25kg and Amberjack 32 KG Best Bass so far 15 IB
Mike.
