Didn't see an existing thread about injury pics so I'm starting one. Let's see some gore from spearo adventures! :blackeye

And on that note... there was a thread about hunting in surf zones - "know what's in back of you at all times." I was hunting in the surf zone, waiting for a nice big fish to come out of his hole, and I'm holding onto the reef with my left hand and gun in my right; I take a shot and missed and dove deeper to get the spear that was stuck in some coral when a big wave ripped through and dragged me out of the water and over a section of coral. Oops.. gotta watch what's in back of you! Next time I'll wear my wetsuit too I guess.

Did a short 10m dive under a collapsed pier at 4-5 meters. Hadn't considered boyancy at shallow depth so bumped head and got a 3cm gash. Out in the boonies so made do with bandaids.
Wifey was not impressed :-)

Oh man, head injuries are the worst. I carry (sometimes) a can of Second Skin with me in my gear bag since bandages never seem to stick well to salt water covered skin. Getting the second skin off later is another story :mute

This little barracuda actually charged me three times after I hit him. He grazed my knee on the third pass and sliced my wetsuit and knee like a surgeon. Not a big cut but it did bleed a lot so I guess it qualifies for this thread. :-))
I closed it up with butterfly bandages and got on antibiotics that night. It closed up well. Still got a tender scar though.

Barracuda is very good. Fillet or cut into steaks. Fry, hudot, whatever. Nice white meat. The can carry ciguatera but we have little to no cig in Belize.
