spent a few hours between last night and this morning thinking about ways to reduce recoil in bluewater guns. from what ive been reading, it seems that one way to reduce it would be to raise the position of the handle higher up in the gun, something not very easy to do it seems... but what if you could raise your handle to above the level of the bands pulling, would this help reduce recoil?
idea 1 = actually i was thinking about this for a reefgun, not a bluewater, why is it that nobody has put a gun handle at the side of the gun? (horisontal plane) is there any specific reason for it being under the gun? i have seen it mentioned that some people turn the gun at a 90 degree angle to shoot, and have better accuracy that way, in that case, wouldnt they benifit greatly from a gun with a handle at the side?
idea 2 = bluewater.similar to 1, but instead of having the handle horisontal, why not do a twin handle setup in an inverted W shape, with the gun barrel being in the middle of the w. trigger setup would have to be advanced, maybe something along the lines of a teleflex cable setup, or possibly hydraulic, but your hands would be completely in line with the bands, so i'd figure that muzzle kick might be reduced.
if my ramblings dont make any sense, forgive me, im just trying to think a bit outside the box
