BO experience...
I want to describe here something that happened to me yesterday and ask if you know the explanation or if anyone had the same experience before...
First of all, I’m 27 I started freediving not so long ago, but been doing static’s on and off for a while now and the last few months did it a bit more seriously.
PB of 6 min and can do 5 min most of the times.
Been doing breath holds every day (two min deep breathing and then one BH) and go for PB every two weeks or so.
In the past, when I did alternate nostrils breathing I used to get towards the final cycle a “Woozy” feeling in my head like being drunk after inhaling and holding.
Yesterday, I wasn’t dehydrated and ate a good breakfast. When I took my dog for her walk at noon I decided to try a BH at the park, after my two min breathing I decided to try on the last two exhales to crouch to get more air out, then I started to hold my breath, when I used to do it on my bed I sometimes got the same feeling in my head for 5-10 sec at the start of the BH, but now I did it standing up and after the crouching I took one last big inhale, started the BH and the next thing I remember is me on the ground the stopwatch is stopped on 22 sec.
I must admit that the most annoying thing is that it seems as if my dog couldn’t care less about me!! ;-)

This is common. You started a bit hypocapnic from the breathing (thus reducing O2 to your brain), then you bend down, and when you stand up, blood rushes out of your head (reducing O2 to the brain), and as you inhale, it applies pressure to your arteries and heart, reducing blood flow (and O2) to the brain. So, with so little O2 to your brain at the start, you black out, and then wake up soon after.
