I just have been given a gift of three shafts and two breakaway tips. This is for my jbl 450. Where do I attach the little cable that comes out of the back of the tip. Any thoughts?

On a JBL tip, the cable should go thru the adaptor that attaches to the shaft since there's no slide ring. It goes in the non-threaded end and comes out thru a hole in the side. Crimp a loop on the end so it won't go anywhere after it toggles. You can just let the cable dangle off the gun, or you can attach it to the shaft with those little rubber bands you use for braces.

Ahi,

U r in luck. I happen to have a JBL set up for ur viewing. One more tip.

U must use big and thick crimp cause everytime the fish pull, the crimp get all the beating from being pulled into that adaptor hole.
Make sure ur cable is at least 1.6mm thick or 400-500 pounds. If u say it did not come with a crimp, ur friend probably installed new cable. The crimp on the spearhead itself must be inspected too if it is a good job.

If ur small rubber insert to pop-up the flopper get dried or lost, get a cheap bicyle tyre air valve tube to replace it, they are the best fir cause round and hollow. Get those China made.
O-ring or speargun rubber don't work very well as insert cause they are solid.

Have Fun
IYA
