In my static (and dynamic warm up) attempts I normally breathe quite deep and slow, example: about 2 seconds inhale and a long deep 10-15 seconds exhale. I was told/read that this would slow my heartrate down and "prep" my body for the upcoming hold. The problem is I don't think this way of breathing is very efficient and the only thing it does is cause me to yawn constantly- is that a bad sign?
Now, when I do a very short hyperventilation of about 10 seconds directly before my hold I can achieve some pretty good numbers in static but I am reluctant to do this with dynamic as it may lead to earlier possibly warning free blackout.
So my question how many breaths/min are people doing and I assume they are all quick inhale, slow exhale. I would appreciate any advice.
