British Columbia Spearfishing Trip

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
I'm working this on an 'as if possible' basis Rationalized as a graduation present for my daughter (she hates me and loves it when I'm out of the house - rofl :waterwork ) - who will be coming along if I manage to pull this off. camping would be cool - I have a four person tent etc. and was planning a much more modest adventure.

Good thing I didn't miss this thread!!!

Count me in for a long weekend if there's room for one more! I wash good dishes, I catch crabs, shellfish and wild plants with my bare hands (amazing, I know! :martial ) and am happy to take photos or video of anyone who catches fish.

Anyone know the driving time offhand from Nanaimo to the destination. 6 hours?

I fine with camping outside.

Looking forward to meeting many of you...

Pete

Glad to hear to hear you're in Pete- long time no see, my friend. It's around 5 hours or less up that part of the Island, depending on the day/time.
Peace,
Erik Y.

If anyone is driving from Nor Cal or Oregon, I'll split gas with you. I checked airline prices and they're an average of about 450 US. Out of my comfortable price range.

Do you have to have a passport to get into Canada yet?

Cheers

Sven you're an evil man!

I talked to the owner of the campsite today on a quick email: he's on the road for a week. After that we'll talk and I will get all the info we need.

Just a licensed hoser.

Yeah, but I have references. :king

And in the tradition of the Keyz Kraze, let the smack talking begin...

"I went into the neighborhood bookstore looking for a copy of "Idiots Guide to Speaking Canadian. All the guy at the counter said was, Eh?"

Wow, that list is much bigger than I anticipated! Great stuff. Be awesome to see some new faces to the area and this should make for some great stories. Maybe there will even be the odd DeeperBlue article following the adventure.

Look forward to it... hope some of you southerners can make it (people below the belt...49th that is). I think our igloos will have melted by then, so you will only get to see our teepees.

well lets see, you;re a long way from Stavanger, so I will try and get some Sheeps Head on the menu to make you feel more at home. will serve it with a big side of Granola to add the Cali connection.

Don;t worry about your Viking hat either, I checked the regs and hunting season will be a few months off..... just, take that flower out of your hair once you cross the border ok?

:t

I had a bunch of "merikin" moose hunters this fall, from "Worshington". they needed a lesson in Toques too. and one was a MLB pitcher who talked about himself in the 3rd person. do all americans do this? :t

Re: Just a licensed hoser.

Wrong country, :head wrong cuisine :yack and the only horns are airbrushed on the 27 :king that I won't be bringing. But if you happen to have a few HP's w/DIN valves, I could show you all how it's done.

And the granola is appreciated. It'll go well with my non fat latte. :hmm

Well, Erik, as you know, when I write for deeperblue, I have to translate my articles from Canadian into the Queen's English and American (deeperblue has special javascript to load the correct version based on the reader's location). And well, it was just getting to be too much trouble!

Perhaps I could dust of the old Underwood and find some ribbon somewhere for the occasion.

Sven, our Canadian crabs are the kind you want to have! :t Don't even ask about our banana slugs..... rofl

This is turning into a freediving block party!

Pete
