Ok, I'm just new and enthusiastic!
I'll take a couple of days off per week - it's just like training in the gym I suppose, go too often and you'll just burn out. I'm in the gym 5 days per week although I only do weights.
I've done a lot of powerlifting in the past although I'm trying to tone down the weights I lift as to be honest, it's just going to ruin my joints in the long run. I'm working more on endurance at the moment... meaning I do sets of 8 not 3... ok, probably not endurance in most people's eyes but it's a change for me
Seriously though, if deadlifting 405 for 3 sets of 8 isn't endurance, I don't know what is
I do do the odd bit of running, my prefered methods are a 1 mile jog followed by a 1 mile sprint / fast run - probably do 8 min mile there, 5.30 mile back. Occasionally I'll do a 3 or 4 mile jog but I find my knees start to get a bit stressed after those... but that's what 5 years of heavy squats will do to you.
Obviously heavy weights and muscle mass are not ideal for breath holds or freediving but I'm doing it for enjoyment and personal improvent, not to be competitive.
