Budget Minded Beginner Freediving Fin + Snorkel Suggestions

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
When you get around to buying a new mask I'd recommend the Seacsub X-Low or U-fit. They are the only masks I have tried that don't squeeze before 20-25m other than the old Big Blue Scubapro. The Scubapro leaks though and is a little hard.

Masks that I have tried that all squeeze before 20m are the Cressi Minima, Speton Falcon (the worst one yet) and Beuchat Mundial.

EcchiK,
Spaghetti has both, so you should be able to pm him and get the best response possible. You can look for his info in the eurogun section on hunting.

Ok, so here's my beef.

I went to my local dive shop today to try out any apnea fins they had with a 5mm sock.

I ended up trying the Gara 3000 LD and Gara Professionals (size 42-43 & 40-41) with a 4mm sock.

Findings
1.
Size 40-41 fins are definately too small.
2. Size 42-43 fins are ok length wise but tight all-around my foot at this part:

More Questions:
->
Will Omer's be more comfortable in this regard?
-> Is there a DIY for fixing this?

Thanks again!

Omers are wider for their length. They often go better with thick socks.

Ecchik, have you thought about the sporasub instincts? at 28 Euro they are more than a steal? they only have 38/40 but you may find them somewhere else in the right size. I have a pair and feel they are very good for a plastic fin, nice wide soft foot pocket, not a heavy fin, and not too stiff.

Haven't consider them, gonna google 'em now and have a look.

We'll see though, cause I can get the Omer Winter's for 60 + shipping and I plan to buy a whole package while I'm at it to save on shipping. But I'm open to the possibility.

The omers would probably be the better option, as you can replace blades at a later stage if you wanted to get fibre or carbon. I didn't really think about that before.
