California to DC transplant looking for contacts

Hi everyone. I recently moved to Washington DC from California for work and have become increasingly sad about leaving diving and spearfishing behind. I'm grateful for any advice on spearfishing in the mid-Atlantic that's a reasonable drive from DC! Looking forward to meeting people.

That's quite a move. You may want to browse the USA/Canada subforum as well as trying a keyword search. Local dive shops are also a good resource.

Welcome to the land of blackwater! Freediving generally sucks in this area. There are some who spearfish out of Ocean City and also the Bridge-Tunnel in Va. Also some in New Jersey. But nothing close by. Me and my buddies sometimes go to quarries. I myself do pool practice in Annapolis and you are welcome to join me.

Thanks a lot for the offer. I´d love to join sometime! I´m always up for a challenge with ugly water. I had seen some stuff about Cape Henlopen in Delaware and was headed that way to go camping next month anyway so I may check that out. Jersey, Ocean City, and the Tunnel sound good too.
