Hello All
My name is Colum McCann. I'm a novelist (colummccann.com) and I'm wondering if I could get some help from among your community. I have written a literary novel called "Twist" which is due out with Random House spring 2025. The story takes place primarily on an internet repair ship out of Cape Town, but there are several significant freediving scenes that take place during the course of the novel, including an act of sabotage. I am wondering if there is anyone out there who might be willing to take a glance at the pages and read/critique them for me? I am a meticulous researcher and I have written books about several topics ("Let the Great World Spin" includes a tightrope walker, "This Side of Brightness" includes underwater tunnel diggers), but I have no direct experience of freediving, and I want to get it correct. For those who are serious and willing I would be happy to acknowledge them in the book and/or pay a fee towards a charity of their choice. Serious readers only please. Could you contact me at cmccann158@gmail.com if you think this is something that might interest you?
Deepest thanks!
Colum

I'd be willing to help you out. I've been freediving regularly for quite a while (at least 15 years), am a long-time reader of quite a few genres and have had a few articles published, so I have a little relevant experience. No fee or acknowledgement would be required. I'll e-mail as well, as requested.
