hey guys, i've been into snorkeling/diving for several years and only by chance stumbled over freediving last year! totally fell in love with the sport... the movement... the freedom! only started training in earnest about a week ago and am quite amazed at the progress that is possible in such a short time!

unfortunately i live in north germany with only a couple of lakes to dive... and am the only one who is serious about it out of all my friends :/ add to that, that spearfishing is illegal in germany... bummer!

but luckily i'm moving home (england) in august :)
btw, awesome forum/community, learnt so much already!

In Hemmoor Germany there is the Kreidesee, a really nice lake with a depth of ~56m, pretty good visibility and nice camping and fries würst und curry :)

There is a great German event called Apnoehappening, and they have it either in north Germany - Hemmoor, or in a mountain lake just over the border in Austria.

Contact AIDA Germany and they may help you get in touch with some local freedivers.
Also CMAS Germany has a big contingent of freedivers throughout Germany.

Good luck!

thx guys :)
very warm welcome here on this forum... i liiike!!!

@Kars:
thx for the info! already looked it up, unfortunately it's a few hours away... so not that great to just quickly do some diving. but if there is a camping site there... i might just go for a weekend or so :) also i haven't done any freediving courses and the kreidesee seems to be quite regulated... i normally just pack my bags and go diving when/were/how i want :p
it does look very interesting though...

thx again!
