BUT if you guys are gonna be there lateish me and the missus mite join you guys for a nite cap a bit later on, but well have to see how it goes otherwise we must hook up again at a later stage in a week or two maybe...

Hey Guys

Yep, we did, had a great evening, was a pleasure to have met Sebastian Naslund after reading many of his posts here. The venue was great, in fact we have decided to hold a static breathhold comp in the hotel pool on 4th May, will confirm the details!!

The entire hotel is geared to extreme sports, but the lifts took the cake, got into one to find it was a 'shark-diving' cage, complete with huge photos of Great Whites swimming around, so you get this perspective of being in the cage! :D

Jeff

Yes, as Jeffa said, it was great fun... always interesting to meet up with fellow freedivers
and discuss diving, future events, experiences and other 'normal' things :)
Pity you other DB's couldn't make, I'm starting to think you don't exist...
SO, book Friday the 4th of May, evening for the fun breath hold comp at
Extreme Hotel!

Photos photos photos.... pleaseeee

As Jeff mentioned, we are having a FUN BREATH-HOLD COMP at the Extreme Hotel in Cape Town...
So, this is an INVITATION to all interested Freedivers/ Spearfishermen/ Scuba Divers with Empty Tanks,
Normal People with Big Lungs... and Friends!
Join us for some breath hold, drinks and dinner at the Extreme Hotel, Friday the

you look right into the pool from the restaurant and bar.
It's free and it's fun, bring your wet-suit, be a part of a Static Relay Team or the Magic 3 Guess-Your-Time Competition!
See you there- let us know you're coming!

News!

Today was the first and deepest day of the AIDA SA FREEDIVING OPEN.

The dives were done in open water outside Hout Bay. Due to somewhat rough conditions,
colds and ears, only two divers elected to dive, Trevor Hutton doing a 60m Constant Weight dive
(up and down only propelled by fins/ monofin) and Roger Horrocks 30m.
Judges: Hanli Prinsloo (RSA) Sebastian Näslund (SWE).

Congratulations to Trevor, who has achieved the deepest freedive ever in competition in South African waters!

A big thank-you to the scuba divers who kept us safe from sharks at depth, and to Sarah
and Dive Action for the boat and professional help!

Schedule for the rest of the Freediving Open:
Friday 4 May, 17:00- late: FUN STATIC BREATH-HOLD at the Extreme Hotel
Saturday 5 May, 10- 15: Constant Weight, Free Immersion, Constant Weight No Fins, Blue Rock Quarry, Somerset West
Sunday 6 May, 9- 15: Static, Dynamic with and without Fins, Long Street Pool
Fun Static at Extreme Hotel Cape Town

Photo: Roger Horrocks
A happy Trevor Hutton and Judge Hanli after the dive.
