RESULTS from Cape Town South Africa
Trevor made a 60 meter CWT look easy in weather conditions that many other organizations would have considered undiveable (the soth africans claims it was a calm day). First deep dive competition in the sea in RSA.
A total beginner named Richard walked in to the pool competition and did 113 dyn (he asked us before if 50 meters was far, or if 100 meters was far - and we said: no it is not
Roger pushed himself in DNF and did 89 meters (which might be a NR if Bevan hasnt swam further).
The team relay static (four teams of 3) became a standof between the last guys in two teams. Roger started out a full minute before Mike, but Mike "caught up" and did a 6.30 BH giving his team a total of 13.08 minutes.
The magic three competition (STA closest to 3 minutes wins) surpsisingly saw two persons finishing on 3 minutes more or less sharp. Stefan and Sophia.

Now all we need is our own AIDA SA website to help keep track of events and records. I'm not one for organisations etc., so it could even be a little more generic than an official AIDA site. Anyway, if anyone is interested in doing something like this, let me know and I'll help out with the geeky stuff.

We have received a severe weather warning from the weather experts. This will peak Saturday 02h00 and continue up to Sunday 20h00. We expect lots of rain , high winds and high swells. This will also go with very cold temperatures.
Can I ask that all supervisors and managers inspect their buildings and work places to make sure that equipment and belongings are protected. Please also ensure that anything left outside is secured. Please take the time to walk around your area to make sure it is safe.
Also apply the same action at your homes, keep your family safe.

You probally won't believe what I'm going to tell you now. It's Saturday, the rain is flooding the roads, trees are blowing over, but here in Fish Hoek the sea on the false bayside is flat! like this:-----------

I was in Fishhoek Simonstown area both Saturday and Sunday, not for diving purposes though. On Saturday the sea was flat as a mirror with a bit of a ripple rinnin cause of the wind and in some places looked crystal clear from the side. Sunday on the other hand there was a huge swell running with lots of dirty water all over...

Time for a bit of a revival on this thread, are we too busy drinking to dive or are we too busy diving to post guys and gals 
Well dont know about the rest of you lot but its been a quiet few weeks when it comes too diving for me that is until this weekend past.
Myself and a few guys from Bellville club met up at 6:30 on Saturady morning for a trip out in false bay, with freindly winds and a warmish morning for this time of the year it was expected to be a nice day out at sea so off we went to launch the boat in Simonstown. Once on the water we headed out and hit the water about a mile or so behind belows where the birds were working like crazy in the 80m deep blue water, our echo was broken though so we dove blind and thus didnt really find anything allthough it was a awesome dive out there in swell that makes a 14 footer look small Id probably be exagerating when I say it was a swell of about 8 to 10m but it wasnt so strong just big slow rollers that makes freight ships on the horizon disapear.
So after this we headed back toward inner point and there started diving just behind the surge in search of some gallies, most of which was found in the first place we dove, where I unfortunately did not get in so I didnt get any fish as I only hit the water again in outer Smuts Bay where we had about 15m vis and some awesome diving between the gullies and kelp. Just as we left the bay we spotted a GW cruising toward our diving spot so I guess luck was on our side in that department allthough the fish were scarce. We couldnt even catch a snoek in huisbaai while all the other boats were taking them out one after the other, wrong bait I think .
All in all it was a awesome day at sea with clear water sun and good fun, we also spotted a really pissed off seal in the large range with a coke can stuck to one of his molers would have liked to help the dude out but I like my hands and nose thank you very much, but not too cool who ever left a coke can in the water :rcard . O we also helped a dude whos boat sank in the harbour to lift it out before we came back in wich was a new thing for me allthough I think he can just tow it out and sink it again as the hull does not look too good anymore, Its a really old boat if you know what I mean...

Hi Sands, Ill be lookin out for your visit then. Diving wise and so on your probably well equiped allready with freinds like Miles and Jeff, but when it comes to most if not all party spots that plays real music (ie. not hard house or rave) gime a shout and well show you some of the biguns :friday :friday :crutch . Well have you downing tequila shots at night and diving the next morning :blackeye . What month are you planning on comin over?
