Carbon fiber hybrid

It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Thanks for the info Actually yesterday i took my gun (Hybrid) to the lathe shop and we kept it as you said rotating while the bit stationary and we will make it pin type with two pins to keep the aluminium barrel inside. ( I do not want to jump on my friend gun thread i will post more info on my gun build thread. Thanks all the way guys for your support and great info.

You could just drill the hole with a flat bit, a hole saw or an orga bit in an electric drill.
You would need to be pretty confident though!

That was my main concern. Actually we were like 3 or 10 time checking that it is aligned properly on the lathe machine. As you said those ways need like very accurate skill which i do not want to risk it. The first machining of the blank (To be sure it is 100% straight all sides) will give a good straight hole on the lathe machine.

One option would be to slightly oversize the hole & use a microfibre epoxy mix to glue the tube in place.

its an option , but i did it and screwed it up royally. if you do it with any gap at all in between the tube and the hole. when you glue it into place be SURE to align it PERFECTLY while it dries. that can be a challenge. good luck .

its unneccesary make your own thread. as long as its about hybrids i post this stuff to get input from everyone. when you discuss related issues, you may teach me something, so by all means..........

looking back i think the best way is to make the hole slightly large ,(maybe .5mm is ok) then align PERFECTLY. and drill and pin, then remove pins and put epoxy then fit tube while wet and pin it twice, so it cant move. while drying.- thats what i'm gonna do on #2 hybrid

Here's what I did. Start with your wood section about 1"-2" longer than you want it to finish. After boring your hole in the stock, cut off a 1"-2" slice from the front of the wood. This little piece has a hole in it, to perfectly match the one in the stock. Mark the top so that you can orient it properly later

When you glue the tube into the stock, use that slice as a support at the other end of the tube to hold the tube perfectly square with the stock.

Assuming, of course, that your table is flat.
