Hello, I am going to get some carbon fins and I will train in the pool with them.

I was told by a friend that you should not stand while wearing carbon fins (I guess they may break?). Is this true? If so, that is bad news because I stand in the shallow end of the pool between DYN sets.

I've been training in the pool for 3 years with the same pair of carbon bi fins (trygons) and they have sustained no damage even though I'm not very careful with them. I stand between DYNs, use them for safety, and even underwater rugby on occasion.

I have seen a pair (also trygons) be broken but only by folding the blade against the bottom and pushing off to lift a person for a rescue. Other than that extreme case, or walking along the side of the pool?? they should be absolutely fine.

Basically as long as you always push off the walls for your turns with your heel and not the blade, which is proper technique anyway, nothing is going to happen.

Awesome, thank you. What do you mean walking along the side of the pool? Like using the fins as shoes and walking? Lol.
