I am about to buy carbon fins and got some strange info. about the seller.

I was thinking to buy C4 Falcon 30 but the seller told me that XX1 Carbon blades are more durable and higer performance than C4. I am not quite sure if this is the sale gimmick or true info but this statement disturb my choice. He said XX1 carbon blade had more snap than C4:hmm

Now, Which one to get????????????? Anybody tried both xx1 carbon and C4???

I can get C4 for the same price of the XX1 carbon from the different places, so money is not issue here.

C4 Flap (the new ones) 30. Best fins I've ever tried. I bought them in fact. No quality issues so far, but it has only been 3 months. C4 normally makes good quality items.

Cheers.

Can you compare them to the falcons? or this is the only C4 you get?

The Falcons remain in production and still are great fins. The Flap are a bit more expensive (a few Euros, no big deal), and are the results of flow studies aimed at improving the Falcons.
Same effort, more propulsion (with the Flap). Hard to tell you why, it just feels more powerful while maintining the same kicking technique and effort.

You use flap for freediving or spearfishing? Do they rate the stifness the same as falcon 25,30,40? Are they durable as Falcons?

I checked www.c4carbon.com to give you a link to the Flap site, but I've just realized C4 didn't even put the Flaps on their site yet. Weird, 'cause they've been out for about 3 months now in Italy.

Here's the breakdown from http://www.acquasport.com/pinne.htm#sei

08C4FLA25 Pala C4 FLAP 25 mm 790x190 (each) € 99,50
08C4FLA30 Pala C4 FLAP 30 mm 790x190 (each) € 99,50
08C4FLA40 Pala C4 FLAP 40 mm 790x190 (each) € 99,50
08C4FLA80 Pala C4 FLAP 80 mm 850x190 (each) € 112,50

I spear fish with the Flap, but only deep dives in open water. Otherwise for shallow dives or "rough" fishing I'm happy with the very confortable and indestructible Cressi 3000. I have no idea about durability, but the Flap look exactly like the Falcons (they just have an inverted V shape at the top), so I'd guess we're probably talking similar durability...

I just got my first freediving fins a few days ago. Having tried the C4 Falcon and loved them I thought I would go one step further and get the flaps. I LOVE them. Although as I say these are the first specialised freediving fins I have owned and so can't compare them to anything except my plain old scuba fins - but they feel really nice and efficient. It is clear that I am going to have to totally refine my technique to get the best out of them but so far I am really happy with them. I just hope I don't break them!
Can anyone advise me on where I can find some info on proper turning technique for dynamic in the pool?
