G'day guys,

I'm chasing the instruction manual for a Casio SNK-100 Depthsensor dive watch. I have found the manual in german but thats not much help!
A mate of mine gave me the watch and I have hit the little button the top left hand side to 'clear' the previous dive and now it says 0.0m, 0.0m avg ect. However I took the watch for a dive yesterday and now its not registering. It still works as the previous dive before I reset it was 16.1m and all the other figures were displayed.

Does anyone know anything about this watch or how to use it?

Cheers!

Hi Dan Man,
I have this watch too. I don't have the manual anymore, but its very simple to use.

4 buttons:

1) button TOP LEFT (not really protruding like the other 3 buttons and therefore a bit more difficult to press) is for all the settings of the normal time display. You press once, till the seconds start to blink. Then you can switch through the different positions by pressing the BOTTOM LEFT button and setting by using the BOTTOM RIGHT button. Press TOP LEFT again to exit the setting mode.

2) BOTTOM LEFT button:
- 1 short push and you activate the timer up. Start and Stop by using the BOTTOM RIGHT button, reset to 0.00.00 by using the TOP RIGHT button. Return to time display by BOTTOM LEFT.
- 1 long push (at least 3 seconds) and you enter the depht measure mode:
max depht 0.0m, actual depht 0.0m blinking and dive time beneath. In this mode by using BOTTOM RIGHT button you can switch between max depht and actual time in the upper left corner of the display.
Exit dive mode by pushing BOTTOM LEFT again for at least 3 seconds.

3) BOTTOM RIGHT button.
When acitvated in normal time display, it shows you the data of your last dive session: max depht of all the dives you did before exiting the dive mode, avarage depht and total time of the dives.
In timer up mode, as already said, you start and stop the timer with this button.
In dive mode you switch between max depht and actual time in the upper left corner of the display.

4) TOP RIGHT button:
LIGHT in all modes, just in timer up mode the button is used to reset the timer to zero.

That's it, there are no other functions, I tried everything while writing this.
I didnt really get what your problem was,but I hope this little instruction can help you to handle the watch.

Cheers,

Ivo

Hi again.

What i forgot to say:
the data shown when you push the BOTTOM RIGHT button (kind of dive log book) are cleared every time you enter the dive mode (BOTTOM LEFT for at least 3 sec) and the depht sensor starts to measure. Then the old data are erased and replaced of them of the new session.
This watch doesnt provide (as you surely noticed) specific dive time and depht for each single dive by saving them and reseting to zero for each new dive. Dive time is just accumulating, and at the end of a session just the max depht and the total dive time is shown.
So if you want the exact data for a single dive, you have or to reset the watch every dive by exiting and entering the dive mode again, or you calculate the time by subtraction from the amounted total time.

cheers,

Ivo

Mate thats a MASSIVE help. So when the watch is in dive mode (hold bottom left for 3 seconds) it displays:

max
0.0M 0.0M <-----this 'm' here is flashing when its in dive mode yeah?

Also do you know what the minimum depth the watch has to go before it starts measuring, I think when I tried to read the german manual I made out something about "3ft" so I assume thats the minimum depth.

Anyways, many thanks to you, it was a gift from a seasoned diver, I just want to know the maximum depth I have attained during the day which this seems to do!

Hi,
yes, the "m" (actual depht) is flashing, that's normal, i guess it stops as soon as the sensor starts to measure. Am not really sure when that happens, 3 ft (about 1m) could be right.
Don't know if you realized that the sensor just measures till 50m. If you usually dive deeper, then grade up to a D3 ;)

Cheers,

Ivo

I have two of those. Very very important to know is that when you change batteries you have to short-cut a circuit in order to make it work after the change. Theres a little hole on the back which needs to be grounded after changing the batteries. The last time I changed the batteries I had fogotten that and thankfully the sony service could help me out. But who knows how long this will be the case
