thanks a lot for the advice scott and prowler, kind of thinking that as i'm a bit of pussy when it comes to being cold i should go for a 5mm sock! was at 03 yesterday in portland and tried on a pair of gara 2000 and their new professional fin that's taken over from the 2000 and found them both to be pretty tight ,as in narrow, - something i was told to expect with garas. i didn't think i had particularly wide feet but apparently i do! so going to see how i get on with tribs fins and also have a try out of the stuff i've seen at blue water sports in brixham.

the first fins are short mate and the blades are really soft. the second pair are the same/similiar to the pair Tribs are offering :)

I have feet like a hobbit mate but I wear gara's with 5mm socks and the pockets do give after a while BUT if youve got the time its best to get the fit spot on

Jules1972, i started out with a pair of Cressi fins but they didn’t half squeeze my feet. Moved on to a pair of Dessault foot pockets teamed up with Nemo fins and I’ve got to tell you mate that the Dessault pockets are spot on with the slightly wider footed bloke.
Got mine from Spearo Dave but I’m not sure if he still sells them?

Thanks for the input guys - Podge i tried getting hold of dave at spearo a number of times to no avail.

Scott i'm a bit confused about what you're saying about the 2 pairs of fins as on the website it says that the 2nd pair of fins are shorter than the first? either way, think i'm going to see how i get on with the fins tribs has offered me for now.
