i know its not a fishy dishy.... but this year I am going all out and making a Turducken for Christmas lunch.

for those who arent familiar, it basically a chicken inside a duck inside a turkey... or variations thereof. i may just put two quails in as well for good measure :D

i have made one for Christmas about 4 years ago... has anyone else made one, and what was your stuffing etc?

:p

So inside the turkey there is a duck and inside the duck there is a chicken and inside the chicken there are 2 quails and you are asking about stuffing???? Lol

Sounds like Russian Dolls - I hate Russain Dolls, they're so full of themselves!

hahaha! its the Russian doll of turkey roasts.

And, if that doesn't satisfy your ambitions, you can always buy a small pig and create what's known as the fowl de cochon, which is, you guessed it: a turducken stuffed into a deboned swine, which will feed about thirty people. Now that, friends, is some delicious ambition.

found that somewhere yesterday rofl

Interesting dish but difficult to cook & even more difficult to carve!

Our locale butcher sells all sorts of combinations on the same theme, some costing hundreds of £s.

I guesse I have cooked a few different dishes for Christmas lunch but this year we are having deep fried whole turkey.

I have a niece who lives in America & she bought over a turkey deep fat fryer in the summer. The problem was the gas jetting was not compatible to the gas we use however I have got it sorted now.
So we will be giving the fryer a trial run with a big chicken very soon but my niece swears this is the way to achieve the ultimate turkey!!
If all goes well then it is going to be deep fried turkey for 14 on Christmas day lunch..

Why on earth would you want anything that starts with the word turd??
I'm personally going to make a gnaflyquaiturduckenswinocerousephantawhale.

Turducken sounds like something that happens in a faeces throwing event. I saw such an event at Chester zoo once. Cheeky monkey!

Merry Xmas :)

Did they kick you out for doing that?

That looks yum!!!

For Christmas my wife is making me a sultana-free Christmas cake and Christmas pudding. She spoils me.

I once read about a dish served a the wedding of an important sheikh where the main dish was a brace of squab stuffed into a chicken stuffed into a bustard stuffed into a kid stuffed into a mutton stuffed into a young camel. I don't know whether to believe this but if it was true I'd have given a lot to see it. Taste it? Well, maybe . . .

I had a sausage stuffed in beef curtains for the strike of the new millennium. It was nice to hear all the fireworks going off like I was being applauded.

Interesting that he was the first person that sprung to mind for you.

Not just the sheep that should be worried me thinks

Ahum..

Bahaha, all I read was "I had a cocktail Frankfurt in a loose fudge pack. It only took me 1 min to finish it, twice as long as usual"
