Citizen Aqualand will it work for freediving

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
The watch is designed to sound its alarm whenever you ascend faster than 1 m/sec, and there's no way to disable that function.

There is a way. I took mine to the service center to have it done, and I think Pursuit says he did it himself. Its just that all alarms are then disabled, but that wasn't a concern for me. I didn't want an alarm clock.

Where I think I'm still in the dark here is this- does some later version of the Aqualand really have a full functioning freedive mode with features such as the D3 and F10?

As far as I've been able to find out, the only Aqualand with a real freediving mode, with all the neccessary functions, is the Cyber Aqualand.

The thing is, the Cyber Aqualand, while it's a great digital watch, and looks really nice (one of the nicest-looking digital watches I've seen, IMO) actually costs more than most regular dive computers, so if all you want is a freediving-capable computer at the best price, you would probably do best to look through Trux' computer review and pick the model that catches your fancy at the best price.

OTOH, if you're a digital watch aficionado, and want one of the coolest and most capable digital watches out there, and don't mind dropping $800-$1,900 on a watch/charger/interface/software system, depending on your options like titanium, sapphire crystal, etc., then the Cyber Aqualand might be for you.

I do like analogue hands on my watches, though, and a rotating elapsed-time bezel.

I'd added the Citizen Cyber Aqualand Nx to the review too, so you can now compare it with the other computers:

APNEA.cz - Freediving Computers

The price is not that high - I see it on several places on the web for slightly above $500, just often it is out of stock (not sure whether it was discontinued or not). For example, in the review there is a link to Amazon, where they sell it for $540, but currently it is not in stock there either.

The advantage is that you can transfer data through the built-in infrared interface, hence you do not need to buy any expensive cable as with most other diving computers. Also the rechargeable battery will save you money for regular battery changes. I tried to list also other advantages and disadvantages. If you have any comments you wish to have addressed or corrected in the review, please let me know
