Classic Style Angled Monofin?

Normally, the classic or '1st generation' monofins have simple footpockets, no angle to the blade (with respect to the feet), and no 'wings' or heavy rubber. They also have no buoyancy change.

The new generation have monster footpockets, giant wings, lots of rubber, usually lots of buoyancy change.

Is there a fin available in the classic footpocket style, but with an angle to the footpocket/blade? I once saw such a fin (maybe by Specialfins), by I can't find it anymore on their website.

Does anyone know if such a fin is (or was) ever available?

Yes! That's the one I remember, Leaderfins, not SpecialFins. I wonder if its the only classic angled fin.

It's the only one I've seen. I've always thought it looked like a really simple and clean design.

Do you guys prefer your fins to be composite or carbon - soft ,medium, or hard - wide, narrow or long on recreational monofin aside from having a good angle? In short, what will be your typical personal preferences on recreational diving monofins for cruising and not line diving?:friday

The Chen Bin fins might be what you're after, though you've tried those already haven't you? I thought that they had some angle, had the older style footpocket and didn't compress at depth.

I have the chen bin. It's a new style footpocket which compresses, and has large wings.

hudasmt. If its a first recreational fin you are after - I'd suggest the waterway nemo - soft or medium blade. Otherwise get hold of Laminar here on DB - he's selling monofins for Triton.

i use a chen bin for cw and dynamic but i think its too stiff for dynamic
so im gonna invest in a waterway glide as i have spoken to a few peple now and the tecnique i want to use is ideal for this paticular fin

Do give a thought to the Triton fins as well. They may not look as pretty as the Glide, but they work pretty well. Just ask Fondue.

Eric, Max is pretty open to building exactly what you ask for if he can - probably worth checking.

Several of us have non-axial fins from triton (non-axial aka - hyperfin). They look pretty much the same as the glide. Laminar has one too and is the sales rep in this hemisphere.
