Hi All
We at Saltfree are currently trying to work out if it might be
feasible to host another freedive competition in the UK this year.
In order to see if it is financially viable, and worth the effort,
it would be really cool to get an idea of who might actually come
along if we decide to do it.
Our comp would be in early May, at Chepstow (near Bristol). It
would be Constant Weight only running over one day (Saturday) with
an optional training day the weekend before and a party of some kind
in the evening. We would have AIDA Ranking and International
Judges. The maximum depth would be around 70m. Water temp would be
about 12C, viz about 6m. Full safety scuba cover and counterweight
system would be in place.
The price to enter would be in the region of £50 (yes its a lot but
it's what it costs to do and that's if we get a good deal on the
insurance).
To make it work, we'd need a minimum of around 25 athletes and
well... we just don't know if there are enough of you out there! So
if there are.... let us know... if you think you would probably or
definitely enter such a competition - please let me know. We won't
hold you to it if we do go ahead but please don't reply yes if you
really have no intention of coming!
Thanks for your help
Sam
