Contraction pyramids - thoughts?

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 90 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Progress seems to be coming slowly, although I am still quite far from my former PB.

What I noticed is a little strange. The "one-breath-inbetween" CO2-tables had a rather negative effect on me. Instead of delaying contractions in statics or dynamics they now came way earlier, at 1:15 instead of 2:15. This is not what I desired, but at least contractions seem to be more gentle during the first minute of the struggle phase.

So now I don't do one-breath-tables any more and my contractions begin at 1:30, hopefully I can delay that even more.

I went from getting no contractions for 3+ mins to getting them shortly after 1 min since I stopped training much. No idea why - I'm having to take a break from training for a few months at the moment so cannot try new things nd report anything back :-(

Are you sure you weren't hyperventilating more before though?

I don't think I was hyperventilating more before, I have a stable ventilating rhythm for almost a year now. That's what I think at least :)

At least I am making some sort of progress.

Hope you can get back to training soon!

Thanks pingshui, hopefully in a few months. I think in my case I must have been hyperventilating a bit before (not consciously), otherwise I can't really explain why I was getting contractions so much later.

If I find out why I'll share here - I might try a few different things dry. Odd thing is that I tried hyperventilating aggressively just to test the theory and while contractions did come later, they were still well before 3mins. Of course dry holds always felt different than holding in the water for me...

well, Xmas is gone, back to training hard... lot of running, jumping and relaxing: a lot water on tuesday night, and i'm gonna try the pyramid the serious way, i'll write impressions and feelings and will share them here
