I'm hoping that my grand plan falls into place today. I have my kit, the go pro and a screw driver. With a bit of luck a new flat lense will arrive at my office for instillation this morning before I have to head to a meeting in St Austell this afternoon. Hopefully when I get to that office the SD card fro the go pro will have arrived there. If that miraculously falls into place I will be heading out somewhere in the St Austell or Mevaguissey bay area, armed with the torch for a session into the dusk/dark.

My main gun now is a Cressi Geronimo Elite Mimetico. I'm struggling to see a good way to mount the Go Pro. Would be good to see how some of you are mounting your go pros. So for now I'm going to try the head torch type mount and hope that it sits well under the hood of my suit with the camera poking out over my mask. I wonder how long it will be before guns come with a go pro mount?

There are some great vids posted here. Are you using bought editing software, or has anyone found a decent editing tool that's a free download and edits 1080?

It's all falling into place to try the go pro tonight. Flat lens has arrived and took about 2 minutes to fit, and submerge in the sink for a basic test, and it looks like the SD car has arrived in St Austell. Just need some good visibility now.

Did you see many bass out there,im going to falmouth tomorrow lunchtime and see whats happening under there.

that was the only one i saw, and it was free swimming. Vis was surprisingly good though-not amazing, but perfectly diveable.

Looked alright to me Alfie.

I got in as planned, please with the Go Pro, but need a lot more practice to better understand where it's aiming.

Vis was real bad. Could only see half the gun at some points. So switched to the other end of the bay.

Slightly better but still a lot of weed and stuff in the water. Saw a nice big mullet, but couldn't get the gun on it fast enough, then just after saw a modest bass and managed to get on it and nail it. First one of the season. Not much beyond minimum size, but tasted good for diner tonight.

I initially thought I might have been too slow and that it was out of range, but having had none so far this year took the shot. It has made me realise how much more range I have with the larger gun but also realise how many shots I've left, but should have taken.:duh

guy at seaways reckoned it might clear up, the wind is dropping this eve and the
sun's coming out according to the met, so it might clear up. Reckon it's worth a go. high tide is 630ish, so water will be fairly slack in the evening too. fingers crossed I will probably just go off the left hand reef at gylly and swim towards swanpool a bit.

Late reply...As a general warning to anyone fishing the Gylly/Swanpool area: I've been in at the Swanpool end of the Gylly reef a couple of times lately with ****ing chavs chucking rocks at me from the cliffs over there. They never got too close, but it only takes one rock in the wrong place... One of the 2 occasions they followed me a fair distance towards the Stack south of Swanpool as well, so they're fairly determined. Going to report them to the police next time, seems like the same group every time...

*******s,i was there the other day,didnt see them but wasnt in long ,no visability,we should trap them ,keep people on shore to video them doing it,if a small stone hit you from that height it could kill you and even if it knocked you out you would drown.

I heard of a local by law that states you can kill one chav a year in order to keep numbers under control. Hmm, come to think about it that might be seagulls and not chavs Oh, well, never mind!

i think the wind has swung through most directions in the last few days and wondering if anywhere will have settled?

Would like to give the go pro another outing now I'm learning the errors of my first go.

Not to mention i have a huge bass deficit to address.

Hey SJ, got in on saturday, south coast, vis was ok not blue water but had a good session..... Had three bass up to the 3lb mark and a similar mullet, my mate also had a nice mullet.. probably one of my best sessions!!!

Well done,i went in at Falmouth last thursday and could barely see the end of the spear,where did you fish ?

lots of bass and decent vis at falmouth yesterday, only had 45 mins in the water unfortunately so went home empty-handed.

Got back from our Cornish trip last night, had a great time with some really good diving even though the winds blew a stiff breeze everyday we found a few old faithful spots that had some reasonable vis.
Not many fish about with only a few Mullet that made it to the freezer but the Lobster’s more than made up for it.
Bumped into a seal moments after I shot a nice Pollock and after a little cat and mouse ended up feeding it the fish, sort of like a friendly dog having a bone.
Jim and myself had a epic scrap with one Lobster that was in a cave under a ledge in the reef at just over 9 meters, ended up with Jim occupying the front end by letting it grab his spear tip with the claws while I got wedged in the opening of the hole and grabbed it out by the tail. Not pretty but it worked.
You boys have got some big old Conger’s down there to, saw more than a few in the backs of bits of reef with one monster just lead out in the open under a bit of weed, left them all to it though as I’m not a lover of Conger meat, that and I didn’t have a spare shaft to replace the almost certain bent one that shooting it would have caused.
Lovely trip with the chef in the pub that we stayed at cooking up the catch from each day, and a top job he made of it to.
