dunno Kernow sniper, hoping to get in myself on saturday morning. Haven't been in since last saturday where it wasn't that great and hasn't been for weeks around St Austell area... Seems to be quite a few good sized mullet around at the minute though... Cheers, maybe see you in the water...
I often look at Sennen as I surf the beach sometimes, but never been in. Always looks clear!
I've got 3 weeks off work as from next Friday as am on Paternity leave! I'm planning a few days in cornwall for some surf, but considering taking some spearo kit. Locally viz has been shot since early september, and even then it wasn't good!
How is it down past penzance. If its calm I figure I could get in on the north coast as prefer that side. Are the Bass still kicking around in the kelp or are they moving further out?

Just got back from an epic late season dive with good friend and spearo-newbie Mike.. aka Jenko.. wasnt expecting much but what we got was the goods! South coast glass off.. no wind.. good vis.. sunset.. and fish everywhere.. I reckon 80% of my dives I saw Bass.. and not just schoolies for a change.. most were a good takeable size.. abouth 3lbs or so with the odd bigger fish lurking in the massive schools. Pretty sure thats the first time I've ever had to go back to the boat to unload fish only to shoot even more when I returned to the water!
In the end I took 7 fish.. 6 good bass and what could potentially be the biggest Golden Grey Mullet I have ever seen! Fully stoked with such a good outcome but did miss what I could only describe in my head at the time as a 'donkey'! - Had him lined up perfectly and as I went to take the shot I was schooled by the rest of the shoal and a different fish took the brunt of the blow.. for a moment I thought I'd just double-kebabbed a good fish with potentially my biggest yet.. but unfortunately in the ensuing battle the big one tore off the spear.. reckon if I'd have hit him true tho he woulda been in the bag.. but hey theres always next time! Mike took home 3 takeable bass and was stoked.. not bad going considering he's only just started up!!

Popped in for a very quick dip in the St Austell area on friday after work. Managed to arange a pass for 3 to 5.30, not ideal but just enough time to make it worth while.
There was a bit of chop, but with the tide mid ebb and vis spot on it looked promising. I was in and out within 1hr 30 with 3 nice mullet and a bass all 2-3 lb, perfect eating size in my opinion. This was the second trip for my home made 90 gun and i'm a total convert.Quiet, powerful and a joy to handle.
