RRRRRRRRRR yu gurt pirate, isn’t a topknot what you black beard types use to keep up the main sail…..:t

Coming down your way in a few weeks time for food, beer and maybe if we can squeeze it in a swim here or there.:friday

Yes Podge'rrrrrrrr! We need a good ol catchup for sure and I hope I can swing a gap over! You Dorset old boys doing the Lizard again?

Got in for an hour yesterday afternoon. The beach was leaping with holiday makers, all giving me dodgy looks as i kitted up. I managed to spear this bad boy towards the end of my sesh, you should have seen their faces as I walked out the sea with it hanging off my belt.

Hi All
Raided over the border yesterday and left with nothing I didn't bring with me. Had a family day on Talland beach and took my gear too. One tiny bass seen in two hours and only tiny pollack and spiders.
Very disappointing.
Tribs

Brett we’ll be out on the Lizard from Monday 2nd September and leaving for home on Sunday 8th.
Either me or fat John the Pikey will give you a bell closer to the time mate.
I think Ben and the fluffchucker might be coming down for a couple days as well so it would be good to have a beer one evening?
There’s also talk of a possible trip aboard next year as well so that might be worth thinking about, not sure were to yet but hoping for somewhere far away and nice and warm?

Hi guys ! Trying to earn one step more in my cornish knowledge .... How do you deal with the tides ? Are the trips very marked? I' m used, in the Atlantic, to take advantage of the last two hours before the culmination of the high tide (a sort of "feeding time" for many fishes..) You do the same ? :hmm

Managed to drop in for my first proper dive yesterday.. well in the UK that is.. vis on the North Coast was 15m+ only set to improve Lovely conditions.

Definite change to NZ on the fish front.. Not much seen at all.. few schoolies.. no decent pollock.. couple of bass that were takeable.... managed 1 keeper.. and spooked 1 slightly bigger.

Hitting it hard tomorrow.. both coasts.. anyone know if there is still bloom down south coast?

Dive Safe.. Jim.

Bloom went after a good easterly blow a few weeks back. Viz is a bit milky but not too bad.

Hey all.. had some good dives on both coasts lately.. lovely weather and the vis has been 10-20m for days now! Took a personal best Pollock on the North Coast last week and a few nice bass offshore down South yesterday.

Still not loads about but definitely seeing more silver now

Hope you all manage to get in before the next bout of weather and swell. Dive safe. Jim

On a side note we just released our Skyhawk Aerial Showreel "This is Cornwall" (just though some of you might like to see it.. if you look real carefully you might spot a couple of favourite dive marks!)

Skyhawk Aerial Showreel | This is Cornwall

ENJOY!

Great catch ! Congratulations !!!

I see someone made the paper this morning, though I suspect that the responses will not be the ones they are after.

Hmmm that would be me, the guy came over asking if he could take a picture, then started filming us.
It was in no way in a submerged rock pool lol, it was holed up in about 10 metres of water a few hundred yards out.
I did hesitate on spearing it but being as we do eat conger it will keep us going for a while.
After the fight it put up I doubt I would do it again.

Good man .Good fish taken for good reason .well done .will try one if i see one a good size.Theres two sides to every story.

Hi. New to the forum but good skills "going to the coast". Read the article. People are so judgemental and I'm sure you are not "horrible people!".

Congrats!

Best regards Youbuur

Nice Conger there GoingtotheCoast. Must have taken some balls to pull the trigger. If it's legal, and you're going to eat it, then there's no debate. Well done. A FoM in my opinion.

I've had a bit of a problem of late finding the bigger fish. Went to the beach with the family yesterday and manage to slip away for a couple of hours. Found a spot with a bit of shelter from this 'orrible east wind. I've only speared this spot once before and blanked so I wasn't holding out much hope. Early on I found a nice bed of string weed and spent a while playing cat and mouse with schoolies but nothing of size. Then I moved into the shallows to try the holes for a bigger fish. Again nothing to be had. Finally I found myself in deeper water between 6-8m with an almost flat bottom covered in kelp. Its not the sort of place I usually hunt but I gave it a go anyway. Sat in the weed I was scanning my arc of fire when I glanced over my shoulder to spot a good fish making a bee line straight for me. I managed to twist round and shoot as it came past me, a nice fish of 6lbs on the stringer and a happy boy.
