I am considering either Cozumel (Fiesta Americana) or Antigua (Jolly Beach Resort) for a diving vacation in October with my wife and another couple.
We spent 2 previous diving vacations in Cozumel at a midpriced All Inclusive called Cozumel Caribe, that unfortunately is now just a timeshare, and had a perfect relaxing, but lots of diving vacation.
Does anyone have previous experience with both Antigua and Cozumel that could advise me on pros and cons of each? How about my choice of All Inclusive hotels?
Thanks for any feedback!

Cozumel

I haven't been to Antigua, but I have been to Cozumel a few times. IMHO, Coz is the wrong place to stay at an all-inclusive. There are many really nice and inexpensive restaurants on the island, and it's a lot of fun to wander around town in the evening. Staying at an all-inclusive tends to keep you on site....a real shame.

Also, Fiesta Americana is pretty far south, away from town. Taxis have become more expensive in recent years, and cost can become a factor in getting to town. And the FA has received some not so hot reviews in the last year or so.

You can find a lot of reviews of lodgings and dive shops at www.travelnotes.cozumel/index/php

Personally, I'd stay closer to town. There are a few all-inclusives near town
if you decide you really want to go that route, and it's easier to get around.

Have fun!

Try antiguq

was in Cozumel 4-5 years back, was not really impressed compared to the diving we did in Belieze... not lot of corals left with all the boats and tourist... i think antigua may be a better choice, never have been though... i got some pictures of cozumel posted on my website under "Ruta maya" if you want to take a look...
