Hey guys is it possible to dive for crayfish in or close to the Sydney region? If yes, what are some good spots that you could reccomend?

Hey Waterboy,
I'm sorry that I cannot help you as I'm on the other side of the world (not really just western Aus) :p
I would recommend you drop into adreno spearfishing to talk to the guys there, they are always helpful!
Sorry I can't be more helpful, if you need any other help/tips for it don't be afraid to ask!

Yes it is. This is also the peak of the crayfish season here. There is no closed season, but they are moist abundant in September. They cannot be speared & can only be taken by hand. Two a day is our limit & the general fishing licence covers them also. They are found on any rocky headland, especially under the soda. The westerlies we get at this time of year provide the best opportunities & conditions. It's considered poor form to ask someone where their cray holes are, if people like & trust you they will often help & maybe even show you some. The best advice I can give you is to join a club. There are 4 spearfishing clubs in Sydney & they do mentor keen new divers. Stay safe. Sharkey
